Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin announced on Wednesday that the agency will undertake 31 \u201chistoric actions\u201d aimed at reversing the Biden administration\u2019s climate policies. This initiative aligns with President Donald Trump\u2019s executive order to \u201cUnleash American Energy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the key regulations the EPA intends to revisit are the Clean Power Plan 2.0, which Zeldin described as \u201cillegal,\u201d the endangerment finding, the electric vehicle mandate, and rules governing particulate matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an op-ed published in The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, Zeldin emphasized the significance of these changes. \u201cBy overhauling massive rules on the endangerment finding, the social cost of carbon and similar issues, we are driving a dagger through the heart of climate-change religion and ushering in America\u2019s Golden Age,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zeldin stated that these measures would result in lower costs for consumers, affecting expenses such as car purchases, home heating, and business operations. He reiterated that the EPA\u2019s approach to environmental protection would not involve shutting down power plants but rather focusing on cleaner and more efficient energy production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cToday marks the death of the Green New Scam. The EPA recognizes that environmental protection and economic prosperity aren\u2019t mutually exclusive goals,\u201d Zeldin wrote in the Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He further elaborated on the potential economic benefits of reducing regulatory constraints, particularly in the auto industry.
